Top Shelf Productions, a leader in New Zealand television and film production, has a long and successful history in programme making, particularly in the documentary and factual series genres.
Top Shelf has made over 600 hours of documentary and factual programming including Gangs (2008), Mental Breakdown (2003), Cinema Of Unease (1995) and All About Eve (1990); and Top Shelf has produced iconic series like Target, What's Really In Our Food? and Frontier Of Dreams.
Top Shelf also has a significant feature and drama slate making three one-off dramas, a mini-series and co-producing two feature films.
The company has always maintained a strong interest in social issues and this is reflected in a number of not- for-broadcast projects for organisations like The Problem Gambling Foundation, Lifeline, and the Ministries of Health, Education and Justice.
Established in 1988 by Vincent Burke, the company has offices in Auckland and Wellington. Vincent is largely based in Wellington and business partner Laurie Clarke oversees the running of the Auckland office.
