Media 7 this week- That was the year that was…
Media7 finishes its 2011 season with an irreverent look at the stories, the issues, the people and the reporters who made the news… Yes, that’s right, “the reporters who made the news”.
The year that is drawing to a close saw yet again the relentless rise of “boutique reportage” – the unnecessary insertion and intrusion of reporters and their sometimes strange antics into the narrative of news stories.
It’s a fair observation to make that the more the reporter appears in a yarn, the less substance that particular story is likely to have.
In times gone by such journalistic theatrics were eschewed and their practitioners were dismissed as “beat-up merchants”… no more it seems.
Russell Brown and his guests, Michelle A’Court, Matt Heath and Wallace Chapman will be also considering more substantial matters as they discuss the year’s cavalcade of news and events.
