Sperm Wars

An ever increasing number of men are being found to be infertile and more and more couples are unable to have a child because, in sperm terms, the male isn’t measuring up. It’s been suggested that twenty first century man is reproductively speaking, only half the man his grandfather was. Cell phones, laptops, ill fitting underwear, alcohol, prescription drugs, and even chemicals in the food we eat cause damage to sperm. But just how much of this are we to believe? Is modern living jeopardizing the survival of our species? The subject of male infertility is fraught with misunderstanding and misinformation.

In Sperm Wars we provide an owners manual to all that is good, bad and deadly for sperm. The documentary is driven by three sperm challenged males – they put their sperm to the test and then choose a diverse range of treatments in their journey to try and regain their virility. We also put some of the myths and misconceptions to the test on three sperm healthy young men – our “testes testers”. We look at how their sperm is affected in a number of situations like wearing different types of underwear and sitting for prolonged periods with computers in their laps.
